Breeders’ Cup 2008

Uncle Clyde inspired this handicapping guide

The last time the Breeders’ Cup came to Southern California, where it belongs :-) , Dick Mandella won every race he entered a horse. He has two horses entered this year: One Union in the Turf Sprint and Mine That Bird in the Juvenile, both on Saturday. Any backers of those two will need some luck to cash a win ticket.

Uncle Clyde’s feeble memory recalls that early in this meet, John Sadler won a bunch of stakes races. The thinking here is that we were given a warning shot that Mr. Sadler has the stable to rival Mr. Mandella’s accomplishment. This bloggist recommends playing all of his horses to win on both Friday and Saturday.

Here is the list of his entries:

  • Filly & Mare Sprint – Dearest Trickski
  • Juvenile Fillies Turf – Emmy Darling
  • Juvenile Fillies – Evita Argentina
  • Marathon – Zappa
  • Turf Sprint – Get Funky
  • Mile – Whatsthescript
  • Sprint – Cost of Freedom

Note: For races where the sidebar pick disagrees with this post, consider an exacta box.
Edit – The early double looks good from here: Race 1 #6 Zappa to Race 2 #13 Get Funky.
